Eight letter sounds and four simple words. Practise with recorded sounds, then read a short sentence together.

Keep your teeth close and let the air hiss. Do not add “uh”.

Parent tip: use letter sounds, not alphabet names. Keep sounds clear without an extra “uh”. Two or three sounds at a time is fine.

Practise sounds, blend words, then use them in a sentence. This starter is a short activity, not a complete phonics programme or level assessment. Follow your school’s teaching sequence.
